Criteria for our Challenge Coins

 There will be available numbered and non numbered coins.

bullet

An unlimited amount of non numbered coins may be sold to anyone wishing to purchase them.

bullet

Non numbered coins may be traded or awarded as the owner sees fit.

bullet

Numbered coins are reserved only for regular members in good standing of AVFD.

bullet

No numbered coin will be sold to former members.

bullet

No numbered coin will be sold to any member’s family posthumously.

bullet

Initial preordered numbered coins will be distributed by random lottery. Numbered coins sold afterwards will be distributed consecutively.

bullet

One numbered coin only per member to be recorded in a coin ledger maintained at the station.

bullet

No special requests for numbers.

bullet

Only the coins numbered “35” & “350” will be set aside as property of the Department and its members to be maintained and displayed at the firehouse in perpetuity.

bullet

Members may trade their numbered coins in order to obtain a particular number. Any such trade should be reported to be documented in the ledger.

bullet

Members may purchase a numbered coin only for an eligible member who is direct family. (ie. Father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife, or in-law)

bullet

Numbered coins are expected to be kept by the individual and passed down as they deem fit.
