The AVFD capital campaign to raise $3 million for expansion and renovation of the firehouse is now underway.

There are many ways in which you can help us reach our goal. You can donate your time, goods and services, and/or make tax-deductible $$ contributions - All are greatly appreciated.

Our  CAMPAIGN VIDEO  is available for your community organization to view. We can present to your membership at your convenience. Who authorized this Capital Campaign ?

After a 3-year strategic planning and feasibility study and after seeking the advice of experienced business and fiscal advisors, the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department's members and Board of Directors authorized the launching of this Capital Campaign.

What is the Minimum campaign goal ?

To meet the growth of our community and to continue to keep stride with technology, equipment, training and space requirements $3,000,000 must be raised.

What is the need for a Capital campaign ?

The Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department's fire station has long been out-of-date....apparatus bays are inadequate, storage facilities are at a maximum capacity and living quarters are overcrowded and inefficient.

How much should I give to the Capital Campaign ?

No one should or can presume to tell you how much you should contribute. Your campaign volunteer, however can suggest donation ranges for your consideration to help the campaign succeed.

 Is a pledge to the Capital Campaign the best way to contribute ?

The 36-month pledge is a time-tested method to achieve a goal of this magnitude. It enables each contributor to give more generously than they're able to do over a shorter period. It takes into consideration personal financial resources and other responsibilities.

Are Gifts-In-Kind acceptable ?

Yes, stocks, Bonds, Property and equipment are welcome and may provide further tax advantages to the donor. For instance, Securities that have appreciated in value often offer tax incentives to donors.

What about naming gift opportunities ?

Naming gift designations are available and welcomed. They offer the contributor that opportunity to perpetuate the memory of a loved one, to honor a family or friend, or recognize an organization. A separate Naming opportunities insert is available for your consideration.

What is the preliminary response to the campaign ?

Very favorable. A number of gifts have already been received.

How should checks be made out ?

Check should be made out to: The Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department Capital Campaign. Gifts to the Campaign qualify as charitable contributions and will be deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes to the full extend as provided by Law.
